Magazine & Brochure Portfolio

For magazines and brochures each page or double page spread has to be thought about individually to make them work. The right balance of text and images, the right information and not too cluttered. But also the thing as a whole has to be thought about. The magazine or brochure has to be cohesive and have elements that appear on all pages in the same way to link each spread together and make it into one document.

History Magazine

These images are from a college project to create a front cover and three double page spreads for an existing magazine. The brief was to create something in the chosen magazines style, while still creating something new and original. I chose BBC History magazine because it uses a wide range of layouts and structures on its pages and yet there is still an overall structure to every page. The actual articles where not important to the brief, we only needed to write a short introduction to the articles and then the main body of the articles is Latin body text. I used Photoshop for this project to be able to work with the photos as I created the layouts.
