Drawing & Painting Portfolio

When illustrating stories using painting or drawing I either use coloured pencils, watercolour paint or watercolour pencils or I use combination of these different mediums. I then scan the illustrations onto the computer and using Photoshop I tweak them until they look perfect.

These are a sample of images from a children’s story called Waking Up: An Albert Brown Story that I have written and illustrated.

Albert Brown is a Teddy Bear who wakes up for the very first time, having just been made in a shop in 1907. During the course of his adventures in the shop Albert learns about friends and bullies.

I used watercolour paint and pencils for this story to create strong solid colours.

Little Bear Constellation

These are a sample of images from one of my stories called Little Bear Constellation.

Little Bear is bored, he hasn’t got any friends to play with and his father doesn’t play with him much. So he flies to earth and has lots of fun with his new friend. Until all his friends have to go home. Then he’s lonely and scared and wants to go home, but he can’t.

I used coloured pencil and water colour pencil to illustrate this story so that the images appear soft and cute.
